Have a question about your
photography session?
______________________
If you have any additional questions,
feel free to reach out.
Where are the photo sessions?
Most of the outdoor photo sessions occur at locations around the Setauket and Stony Brook areas. If you have another location in mind, I’d love to discuss it with you. I also shoot outdoor/indoor events throughout Long Island.
How will I receive my photos? How quickly will I receive my digital images?
Your package includes the session itself and the cost of a specific number of digital images. You will receive your online gallery within approximately 10 business days of your photoshoot. You will then select your favorites and I will send you the high-resolution downloads. Additional images, prints, and other items such as holiday cards, are available for purchase through your gallery as well.
It's important that you download your photos within the time frame of one month. As per the contract, I am not responsible for saving client's images past then. Please notify me if you would like to extend your month for a minimal fee.
My package includes edited images. How much editing do you do?
For the packages/prices currently available, your images will receive light editing, which may include cropping, color, exposure, and contrast enhancement, and other aesthetic features such as converting to black and white or sepia tones. If you have a specific style in mind such as light and airy or moody, let’s discuss that ahead of time. My listed fees do not include heavy editing such as “head swaps,” removal of tattoos or other large markings on the skin, skin smoothing, facial and body reshaping, large object removal, or background changes.
How long will my online gallery be available?
It will be accessible for 30 days from the date of posting (typically within 10 business days of your shoot). Please make your selections and additional purchases within that one-month time frame. Please note that should you need an extension on your month there is a minimal fee to do so.
Should I use my phone or computer to download my images?
When downloading a group of photos such as your Favorites List, please use a laptop or desktop computer to download your photos because the “Download All” function compresses your Favorites List in a zip folder which is not supported on a phone's operating system.
Why should I hire a professional photographer?
It’s my job to work with you to make you look and feel comfortable and happy throughout your session. I'll offer my expertise, as well as show you some poses to make sure you look flattering and natural in every shot. In the case of family photos, you might relate to this. Is there one family member who is always taking the shots and never in the photos? My mom, who is also a photographer, is rarely present in our family albums, because she's always the one behind the camera. Let me do the work and capture beautiful memories of your whole family without anyone left out. I also have expertise editing photos and have high-end equipment which will result in overall professional, high-quality images.
How much do you charge?
My rates are subject to change. Click here to view my current offers.
What should I wear at the photo shoot? Should I bring anything?
Some people choose to color-coordinate for family sessions. But feel free to do what you are comfortable with. Typically neon colors and shirts with graphics aren’t ideal. Feel free to bring your picnic blanket for some poses. Depending on the location you choose, large props may not be allowed based on the park’s rules.
What about keeping my kids engaged?
I try my best to keep the sessions fun and engaging, but you know your kids best. I appreciate all your help in keeping them focused, to encourage capturing them at their best. Please select a time that is optimal for your kids.
We want to include our dog in the photo session. Is that okay?
You are welcome to bring your well-mannered dog to your photo session, provided you've selected a dog-friendly location. Please keep in mind, you will need to bring an additional person to be in charge of your dog when your furry friend is not in some of the shots.
My kids/I/someone attending have the sniffles, can we still come to our scheduled shoot?
I would really appreciate you telling me if anyone in your family is feeling under the weather so we can reschedule. Even if you're feeling up to the shoot, if you have any signs of illness, I ask that you reschedule.
Payment Info: What forms of payment do you accept? Do you require a booking fee?
Yes, to reserve your date, I require a booking fee, payable through PayPal, Venmo, and cash. Cash is required for the balance, and is due the day of your shoot. The booking fee will be deducted from the cost of your package.
What is your cancellation policy?
You must cancel your shoot with at least 48 hours notice, otherwise the client is responsible for full payment of the session (including booking fee and balance)
I need to cancel my session, and I already paid my booking fee. What should I do?
Your booking fee is generally non-refundable unless we've been canceled due to weather (rain, snow, freezing temperatures). However, if you are able to have another individual or family fill in your time slot, I will be happy to refund it to you once that family has completed a paid photo session. Please note if you need to reschedule, an additional booking fee is required for the new session.
A small blemish or two may be removed and teeth may be whitened. My current fees do not include heavy editing such as “head swaps,” removal of tattoos or other large markings on the skin, skin smoothing, facial and body reshaping, large object removal, or background changes.
Why are there watermarks on my images in my gallery?
Watermarks protect a photographer's work and dissuade people from screenshotting. It is customary to place watermarks on photos prior to them being purchased. Rest assured, they are removed when you download them or purchase prints.
Can I ask for changes or different images that appear in my online gallery?
As the artist editing your images, I take pride in my work and reserve the right to make all creative judgements when creating them. Edited images that appear in your Gallery are at the sole discretion of myself. Please do not ask me to make additional revisions or ask for additional images.
Can I screenshot? Can I edit/crop the photos once I download them?
Screenshotting photos from your online gallery without purchasing them violates copyright laws and is illegal. This is how I make my living, and I don't charge exorbitant prices so that my clients have access to quality images at reasonable rates. Additionally, I ask that you do not alter the images in anyway, such as but not limited to cropping, photoshopping, or filtering as this misrepresents my art that I have thoughtfully created for you.
Do you a provide print release form?
Your print release form is emailed to you with your contract, you can view a sample it here.
